I’m Kim Newton, a Harrisonburg, VA-based author and educator dedicated to fostering empathy and belonging through the power of story and community. From my debut picture book, Goodbye Sister, to my leadership as an ESL educator and youth programs director, I create whimsical, inclusive spaces for children and families to flourish. As a teacher, I blend a passion for ELA—honed through an MLitt in Shakespeare Performance—with a deep commitment to equity, helping every student and community member find their voice and a place to belong.
